As the son of a Toledo police officer, Wade knows first-hand the importance of safe neighborhoods. As the Chair of the Lucas County Land Bank, Wade has led the fight to demolish more than 3,000 nuisance buildings – a plan that is getting results. As Mayor, Wade will work with police officers, medical professionals, the courts, and community leaders to tackle the epidemic of opioid abuse in our community head-on. He has also pledged to bring in a new police class of 40 officers a year every year he is Mayor. With expected retirements, this will have the net effect of increasing the size of the police force by 60 officers.
